ABSTRACT
Amos SJ, Nayak
S, Umadevi K., In silico
genome analyses of putative white spot syndrome virus vaccine sites, Onl J Bioinform., 14 (2): 126-137, 2013. White spot syndrome (WSS)
is a
devastating disease in the
shrimp industry. Subtractive genomics was used to identify putative vaccine
sites on the outer coat of the virus. Of 531 coding sequences, 128 were non-homologous
protein to the virus of which a set of 28 genes were predicted as putative
targets using functional
assignment support vector machine. Sub-cellular
localization prediction showed that 11 of those proteins were located on the
outer membrane and could possibly be used as vaccine receptor candidates. The targets must be experimentally validated in vivo for their role in viral survival
and virulence.
