ABSTRACT
Hekmatimoghaddam SH, Sazmand
A, Tajik J, Shirazi MR., Serum cardiac troponin I
concentrations in the camel and buffalo, Onl J Vet
Res., 15(6): 514-519, 2011.
Serum concentrations of troponin I in dromedary camels or water buffaloes have
not been reported. Serum cardiac troponin I was measured in 84 Camelus dromedarius
and 45 water buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis). Troponin I concentrations were 0.467 ± 0.09
ng/mL (ranging from <0.2-3.8 ng/mL) in camels and 0.79 ± 0.119 ng/mL
(ranging from <0.2-3 ng/mL) in buffaloes. There was no significant
difference between sex or age in camel troponin and no correlation between age
and troponin levels. Troponin levels were slightly different to those found in
other species.
