ABSTRACT

Singh V, Praveen V, Khan F, Tripathi CKM., Taxonomy for antibiotic producing Streptomyces spp., Onl J Vet Res., 28 (10): 716-725, 2024. We isolated a Streptomyces spp strain ckm7 from soil producing antibacterial and antifungal antibiotics. Taxonomic identification was done by in silico sequence analysis confirmed later In vivo.  Sequence analysis of ckm7 showed 98% similarity with 16S rRNA gene sequences of Streptomyces spinichromogenes, S. triostinicus and S. capoamus. On basis of biological activity and phylogenetics we surmise that the strain is either variant of S. triostinicus or Streptomyces spp.

KEY-WORDS: Taxonomy, phylogenetics, 16S-rRNA gene, ckm7 strain, Streptomyces, In Silico, In vivo.
