ABSTRACT

Nasiri N, Sharifi H.,  Incidence of reproductive disorders in Holstein dairy herds in Iran, Onl J Vet Res., 19(12): 790-, 2015. We report cumulative incidence of uterine infection, ovarian cysts, retained placenta and dystocia from 10506 Holstein cows in 32 dairy herds from Tehran, Iran.  The cows calved from March 2007 to March 2008 and were monitored until next calving or culling.  Cumulative incidence and 95% confidence interval (CI) of uterine infection was 23.4%; 95% CI: 22.6-24.2, ovarian cysts 10.3%; 95% CI: 10.3-10.7, retained placenta 10.7%; 95% CI: 10.2-11.3 and dystocia 0.78%; 95% CI: 0.62-0.97. Results suggest a higher incidence for reproductive disorders in Iran compared with similar studies elsewhere.

Key words: cumulative incidence, reproductive disorders, dairy herds, Iran.
