ABSTRACT
Mayahi M, Talazadeh F, Sina
M., Immune response in broilers given combinations of live and killed Newcastle
vaccine viruses. Onl J Vet Res., 17(8):426-431, 2013. Immune response determined by the hemagglutination test from 7 vaccination schedules against
Newcastle disease in broilers until 42 days of age is described. Groups of 30 chicks
each were vaccinated at day 9 and/or 18 of age with B1 strain eye drops or via
drinking water or by both routes. Others were given B1 eye drop with killed
vaccine via subcutaneous injection and others were given B1, Lasota or Avenue strains in drinking water. One group was
not revaccinated at 18 days. Controls were unvaccinated chicks. Data analysis
suggested that single vaccinations with live vaccine or killed vaccine by any
method, or live vaccine by eye drop with Lasota in
drinking water did not provide lasting immunity. However, vaccination of B1 strain
with killed vaccine injected SC provided lasting immunity until 42 days of age.
