ABSTRACT
Meimandi PA, Gandomani JM, Bagheri MH, Radiography-CT scan
of sesamoid bursa and interphalangeal joints in cattle, Onl
J Vet Res, 28 (9):
586-604, 2024. Lameness affects welfare,
production and fertility of dairy cows. Ten normal cattle distal hind limbs and 4 distal
forelimbs were evaluated by radiography and another 10 by contrast computed tomography for scans of
sesamoid bursa and interphalangeal joint space. By radiography, absence of contrast
medium showed no link between the distal sesamoid bursa and interphalangeal
joint space in forelimbs or hind limbs. Tomography confirmed absence of link in
outer and inner digits in forelimbs and hind limbs.
Key Words: Radiography, computed tomography, dairy
cows, bursa, sesamoid, digits.
