CT-arthrography of interphalangeal joint gap in cattle

(2):19-26, 2009. Distal hind limbs and forelimbs were collected at abattoir from
healthy Holstein cows with no signs of clinical lameness. Ten hind limbs (A)
and 4 forelimbs (B) were used. Hind limbs were subjected to contrast
radiographic and forelimbs to contrast computed tomography (CT) to visualize
distal sesamoid bursa and distal interphalangeal joint space. Images showed
absence of contrast medium in distal sesamoid bursae suggesting no anatomical
communication between distal sesamoid bursa and distal interphalangeal joint in
cattle.
