ABSTRACT

Vajdi N, Tabatabaei-Naeini A, Oryan A, Abbasi-Teshnizi F., Effect of topical Rosa damascene mill gel on hydroxyproline in dermis of mature male Sprague Dawley rats, Onl J Vet Res., 20(10):652-659, 2016.  Effect of Rosa damascene mill gel on hydroxyproline content in rat dermis is described. Four groups of 10 mature male white Sprague-Dawley male rats each were used as controls and  treatments. Following routine surgical preparation, a 1cm circle of  dorsal cervical skin was excised from each rodent. Treated rats were applied 5% and 10% R. damascene mill gel whereas placebo controls, a daily topical base gel, and treated controls, oxytetracycline spray for 7d. Ten and 20 days later rats were euthanized and biopsies were taken from the site for hydroxyproline content. There was no statistical difference in hydroxyproline content of skin samples between any group.

Keywords-Rosa damascene mill gel, Hydroxyproline, Skin, Rat.
