ABSTRACT

Rajaei SM,  Rafiee SM, Ghaffari MS., Normal intraocular pressure in English Angora and Dutch and New Zealand white rabbits, Onl J Vet Res., 20(4):271-275, 2016. Normal intraocular pressure in 110 English Angora, Dutch and New Zealand white rabbits is reported. A 0.5% proparacaine ophthalmic solution was applied to both eyes and intraocular pressure (IP) was measured using Tono-Pen Vet. Mean ± SD IP values were 13.45 ± 1.65 mmHg, 15.05 ± 2.00 mmHg and 15.14 ± 2.04 mmHg in English angora, Dutch and New Zealand white rabbits, respectively. There was no correlation between IP and bodyweight (P<0.22) and no difference in IP between English Angora and Dutch rabbits (P<0.1), nor Dutch and New Zealand white rabbits (P=0.9). However, IP values were significantly higher in New Zealand white rabbits (P<0.04) compared with English Angora.
