ABSTRACT
Hadi T,
Amin D, Samaneh NG., Pistacia atlantica supplement, performance, immunity and pathology in fowl, Onl J Vet Res., 27 (7): 403-409, 2023. The
effect of dietary Pistacia atlantica oil on performance and pathology in chukar partridges is described. Weight
gain, feed intake and conversion ratio were determined in 3 groups of 18 day old
chukar partridge chicks each, given a control diet or
supplemented with 150 and 400 mg/kg Pistacia
atlantica oil, respectively. Antibody titers (HI
test) against influenza vaccine and necropsy pathology are described. Chicks
fed 150 mg/kg Pistacia atlantica
oil did not have differences in body weight gain or feed conversion ratio
compared with controls. However, birds fed on diet with 400 mg/kg Pistacia atlantica
oil had improved body weight gain and feed conversion ratios. There was no
difference in HI antibody titers or pathology necropsy between groups. Findings
suggest Pistacia atlantica
oil may promote growth in chukar partridges.
