Prevalence of hemo-protozoan
parasites in sheep.

ABSTRACT
AL-Amery AM, Hasan AL-Karkhi EM, Faraj AA., Prevalence
of hemo-protozoan parasites in sheep, Onl J Vet Res., 29 (3): 134-139, 2025. The
prevalence of hemoprotozoan parasites from 258 sheep
(Iraq) blood and lymph smears was determined.
We found 16% Theileria spp. in lymph and 12% in blood, ~11% Babesia
10.46% and Anaplasma
4.27% with higher infections on April Therileria (49%)
, May Babesia
20% and April Anaplasma
26% and least in January (9.5%), December (5.7%) and November (5.7%) for same parasites. Prevalence
of mixed infections corresponded to Therileria-Babesia 3.5%, Anaplasma-Theileria 8.1% and Babesia-Anaplasma
3.5%.
