ABSTRACT
Sadi F., 2D Ultrasound Intraocular measurements in Cashmere Markhoz goats, Onl J Vet Res., 21(7):367-372, 2017. Authors
report ocular structures and measurements in twenty five 12 to 18 month old
cashmere Markhoz goats. Two-Dimensional ultrasonographic images were captured with a 8-12 MHz linear
probe in the sagittal plane. Images showed that anechoic areas of the globe
were similar to that of the bovine and ovine. The fine regular and homogeneous
echo texture of the aqueous humor was similar to that of the horse, dog, bovine
and ovine. The anterior chamber was homogenous with anechoic areas filled with
aqueous fluids with velocity similar to water. Axial globe length was 20.1 ±
0.3mm, anterior chamber depth 1.95 ± 0.16mm, vitreous chamber depth 9.80 ±
0.15mm, sclera retinal rim thickness 1.55 ± 0.07mm, lens and corneal thickness
0.55 ± 0.01mm and 7.69 ± 0.25mm, respectively. No Significant
Difference (P>0.05) was found between the measurements taken from the right
and left eyes of Markhoz goat. The
reference data may be useful for diagnoses of ocular abnormalities in this
goat.
Key words: Eye, Goat, Markhoz,
2D ultrasound.
