ABSTRACT

Olegário da Silva E, Thandile Green K, Batista de Souza MS, Frederico Rodrigues Loureiro Bracarense AP., Case study: ocular hemangiopericytoma in a female dog, Onl J Vet Res.,  19(10): 647-652, 2015.  A  7-year-old neutered female Sharpei dog presented with an exophytic mass in the right eye. The animal was submitted for total enucleation and the tumor was diagnosed histopathologically as a hemangioperictyoma originally from conjunctival tissue, involving the sclera and cornea. Forty months after tumor excision there was no local recurrence. Ocular neoplasms can be classified into adnexal/ocular surface, intraocular and orbital. This is a first report in veterinary literature of an ocular surface hemangiopericytoma in dogs.

Key words: neoplasia, perivascular wall tumor, ocular surface, dog.
