ABSTRACT
Spagnolo V, Giordano A, Comazzi S, Paltrinieri S, Costa E,
Sartorelli P. Activation
of bovine neutrophil affects density and integrin expression. Onl J Vet Res 8 : 59-69, 2004 Activated
bovine neutrophils (PMNs) isolated by discontinuous Percoll gradients
show changes in density compared to resting PMNs analogous to other species. Flow cytometry
demonstrated that activated PMNs are larger and show lower density and higher
expression of integrins CD11b than non-activated
PMNs. Therefore, under spontaneous inflammatory
conditions, results obtained by functional PMNs analysis on isolated cells may
be misinterpreted.
