Morphology of red blood cells in Ablepharus bivittatus and Ablepharus pannonicus lidless skink lizards. Onl J Vet Res.,
20(5):307-311, 2016.
Morphology of erythrocytes on blood smears stained
with Giemsa in lidless skink lizzards Ablepharus (A. bivittatus
and A. pannonicus) is described.
Erythrocyte and nucleus sizes showed large variations between species and sex
of same species. Erythrocytes were more elongated in A. bivittatus
with a wide nucleus in males. In females erythrocytes were smaller with a
relatively slender nucleus. Nuclei were centrally located in all smears.
