bronchitis (IB) is one of the most significant highly acute viral respiratory diseases
of commercial chickens in the world. We isolated, identified and determined
pathogenicity of an isolate of IB virus (IRFIBV32) from broiler chicken farms
in Fars, Iran. Tracheal tissue samples of a field outbreak of respiratory
disease in commercial broilers were processed for virus identification. The 5'
part of the S1 gene of the spike protein was amplified and sequenced. The
nucleotide sequence was found to have identity (95 %) with 793/B strains of
avian infectious bronchitis virus. The isolate produced typical embryo lesions
including curling and stunting, suggestive of infectious bronchitis virus
infection after three passages. Infected allantoic
