ABSTRACT
Tavakkoli H.,
Replication of H9N2 avian influenza virus in lung and kidney of
broilers, Online J Vet Res., 27 (6): 353-356,
2023. Author reports replication of H9N2 avian influenza virus in
in lung and kidney of 30 day broilers by 2-step TaqMan
real time PCR assay after intranasal inoculation. Groups of 5 chicks each viral
titers in lung
on day 3 was 12338 (20%), day 7 376570 (40%), day 11 94800 (20% and day 15, 0.
In kidneys these values were 106 (20%), 73900 (80%), 2484 (20%) and 6436 (20%)
respectively. PCR showed that H9N2 titers in lungs and kidneys 3 days after
challenges were lower (P 0.05) than at days 7 and 11 with highest titers in
lungs.
