ABSTRACT

Euclid JM,  Wilcox RA,  Muhlnickel CJ, Nimmo J, Apocrine ductular carcinoma on the neck of a domestic shorthair cat, Onl J Vet Res., 15 (5): 435-437, 2011. Cutaneous apocrine ductular carcinoma, a rare tumour of apocrine sweat gland origin in cats, was diagnosed in the dorsal neck region of a 13-year-old feline domestic shorthair patient. Histopathological examination of biopsy material revealed an ulcerated infiltrative adenocarcinoma located in the dermis and subcutis with a tubuloacinar morphology in a distinct double-layered epithelial structure, typical of ductular origin. Surgical removal of the carcinoma resulted in resolution of the case.
