ABSTRACT
Khudhair NY, Rasheed YM., Conception rates in dairy cows inseminated and synchronized with prostaglandin
F2α and gonadotropin releasing Hormone, Onl J
Vet Res., Volume 22 (12):1103-1110, 2018. Corpora lutea were confirmed by trans-rectal ultrasound
in 11 multiparous and 4 primarous mixed breed dairy
cows and then injected 1052mcg cloprostenol sodium
(PF2). After 72-96 hours, all
cows were inseminated then injected 8 mcg gonadotropin releasing
Hormone (GnRH) after confirming preovulatory
follicle by TRUS. After 11 days
all cows were re-injected with GnRH. After 40-50 days of insemination conception was confirmed by trans-rectal
ultrasound. Five multiparous cows became pregnant in the left (3) and right (2)
uterine horns whereas all primarous cows in the right
horn.
Key words: dairy cows, conception
rate, PGF2α, GnRH, synchronization.
