ABSTRACT

Holstein dairy calves, Onl J Vet Res., 17(7) 391-395,
2013.
Electrocardiograms (ECG) were recorded in 56 healthy 8 to 48 hr old newborn female Holstein dairy calves. ECGs showed
that sinus tachycardia was present in 75% of calves whereas other
calves had normal sinus rhythm and no cardiac rhythm irregularities were
detected. None of the
calves with cardiac arrhythmias showed any clinical signs of heart disease at
the time of electrocardiogram recordings the arrhythmia observed in this study
should be considered physiological.
