serum selenium, copper, zinc, vitamin A, E and C concentrations in dromedary
camels, Online J Bioinform, 16 (4): 251-256, 2012. Five groups of 6 each healthy
dromedary camels (Camelus dromedarius), aged 1, 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 and above 10 years
old were used. Sera were analyzed for selenium,
copper, zinc, vitamin
A, E and C concentrations. One-way
ANOVA showed no significant differences between specific serum parameters in
any age group (p>0.05), Normal reference values in µmol/L
were 6.75±1.00 to 9.98±2.71 zinc, 6.58±1.07 to 12.43±2.69 copper, 0.15±0.00 to
0.16±0.01 selenium, 1.04±0.32 to 1.48±0.18 vitamin A, 572.52±148.04 to
929.29±239.65 vitamin C and 2.16±0.35 to 3.47±0.76 for vitamin E.
