148 horses presented a high level of abortions (12%), embryonic death (10%) and
neonatal deaths (8%). Microscopic agglutination test (MAT)
revealed 27.0% titres
≥800 and 28.4%, 200 to 400. Anti Leptospira Serovar
Bratislava titres were
detected in 87.8% titre ≥200 but Icterohaemorrhagiae (7.3%) and Australis (4.9%) were also observed. Reactive horses
were treated with dihydrostreptomycin and vaccinated. After one year, sero-reactivity, abortions, embryonic and neonatal deaths
declined.
