ABSTRACT
Rezazadeh F, Hosseinzadeh N, Khodabande E, Ezazi A., Seroprevalence of equine infectious anemia virus in Iran, Onl J Vet Res., 20(9):596-601,
2016. Equine
infectious anemia is
a blood borne
disease a worldwide
distribution caused by Retroviridae. EIA is
of considerable importance to the
equine industry being
one of 11
notifiable equine specific
diseases listed by The World
Organization for Animal
Health. We report prevalence of equine infectious anemia
virus EIAV by ELISA in North-West Iran. 156 (83.9%) male and 30 (16.1%)
mare] blood samples were tested and all were negative. ELISA is not a gold
standard for EIA and further analyses of greater sample sizes and other tests
are needed to validate the finding.
Key Words: Equine infectious anemia, Prevalence, ELISA, Iran.
