Surgical repair of a congenital ameloblastoma in a
cow calf, Onl J Vet Res., 18(12): 936-940, 2014. A 10-day-old crossbred calf was referred due
to progressive enlargement of a gingival mass presented at birth. Physical
examination revealed a tumor-like mass posterior to the right third incisor in
the lower jaw. Surgical removal was performed using an elliptical incision with
at least 1 cm of healthy margin at the base of the mass. Histopathologic
examination showed an odontogenic epithelium tumor without any dental structures diagnosed
as ameloblastoma. Recurrence or metastasis was not
found at a 6 month examination.
Key words:
surgical repair, congenital ameloblastoma, cow calf.
